I've spent most of 2009 not drawing, but I've started to come back ever so slowly.
My last journal was August 09, almost an entire year.
I've recently left my old job, So I got a new job, which hopefully will lift my spirits up, and gives me a few days off a week so I can have some time to myself. Having no money has been a large source of inspiration for me.
I've been joining some clubs, and some of my artworks that have been forgotten about suddenly have favourites in the double digits. It makes me very happy to see something I spent a lot of time finishing in 2007 suddenly get a lot of attention. like 'Addled Impasse' going from 5 to 38 faves within a few days.
So I'm inspired to do some new stuff so I can keep contributing.
A keen observer might notice my complete lack of psychedelic art lately, and a shift into one fan-art after the other. This is mainly because I love fan-art, and I don't know if I can come up with any more patterns. If I do any more abstract art it wont be the same sort of mandala patterns.
This change is also because I met Karissa, and she seems to love fan-art just as much as I do.
I know fan art isn't original and therefore shit according to some people, but I really like it when its done well, and there are some truly epic art on deviantart. I'd like to try and make some.

Slacker
Okay, it really has been a while now.
I noticed that the last thing I uploaded was in March, and that was a coloured version of an older deviation. The last new original art that I uploaded was waaay back in February!
I think the PS3 has had drastic effects on my creativity. I've been playing 8 or 9 different games over the past few months, and enjoying every high defined moment of it :D while the Wii just gathers dust.
The biggest problem with doing new artwork is that it takes a lot for me to be inspired, and for me to actually go ahead with it long enough to actually be proud of it is another story.
It seems like its getting harder to

I noticed I havent updated since early April so I thought I'd just add a quick journal before my subscription runs out.
I've been far too busy having fun with our new PS3. The PS2 goes to the very back of the shelf.
I have been such a gaming addict and havent allowed any time to get anything creative done. Its like eye candy, so incredibly detailed.
I wouldnt even know where to start with some new artworks. What I want to see is on a scale I've never even attempted before. If I was to do something I may spend a very long time on it.
I need inspiration for something completely original, as I've been mostly doing fan-art, which is great f

I havent done anything new in several weeks. Its building up inside my head and needs to ooze out somehow. I have been resubmitting some of my older works with touch-ups, including the ones that were scanned quickly and had that annoying grey smear on one side. I've gone over them with the trusty digital eraser and they are mostly all shiny clean white backgrounds now.
I am mightily impressed with how good the Bounty Hunters picture came up when I finished colouring it, and am surprised to find that it has surpassed the original in
Digital Art
Ive just been spending so much time browsing through dA. There really is some incredible stuff on here, and its very inspiring. I have only just starting using a tablet pen thing which doesnt take long to get used to. Now I dont even know how I used to draw with shitty erasers that don't erase after its been smeared deep into the page.
I would really like to go over some of my old artworks and hyper-polish them with Corel Painter X.
If only I had made them digitally and they would be a lot more colourful and crisp instead of blurry.
I have scrapped a whole heap of stuff that i am horrifyingly ashamed of submitting. I may take the rough ide
